The Capital City of Uganda is Kampala. Often referred to as the ‘Pearl of Africa,’ Uganda is situated in Eastern Africa, a landlocked country, sharing borders with Kenya to the East, South Sudan to the North, the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the West, Rwanda to the Southwest, and Tanzania to the South. Uganda is home to Lake Victoria, the world’s second-largest freshwater lake, and the source of the River Nile, the longest river globally. The country’s notable geographical features include the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains 

Where & when

The PAPU Plenipotentiary Conference is set to be held from 16th to 28th March 2026 at the picturesque Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort & Spa situated along the serene shores of Lake Victoria, 17 kilometres from the Kampala City Centre and 30km from Entebbe International Airport.

Visa Information

Nationals of East African Community (EAC) member states are exempt from visa requirements when entering Uganda. Nationals of all other countries are required to obtain a visa prior to travel.

To confirm your visa eligibility

Requirements

  • Passport copy (bio-data page) with at least 6 months’ validity.
  • Letter of invitation with clear address (the host country will provide this through the coordinators)
  • Recent Passport-size photograph taken in the last 6 months.
  • Vaccination certificate (Yellow Fever) certificate should be 14 days before date of travel
  • Visa fees $50.

Once your visa is approved, download the approval letter (travel authorization/visa approval letter) and you can either go to the Ugandan Embassy in your country to have it personalized or you can travel and have it personalized at the point of entry at the Entebbe International Airport. You are encouraged to submit your e-visa applications 30 days in advance to allow for any delays or eventualities.
