The Ministry of Health on Wednesday, 13 May 2020, confirmed 13 new COVID-19 cases from 1,741 samples of truck drivers. This brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 139 in Uganda. The new cases are, 7 Ugandans, 5 Kenyans and I Eritrean who arrived from Tanzania, South Sudan and Kenya via Mutukula, Elegu and Malaba borders. All 363 community samples tested negative for COVID-19. The total samples tested were: 2,104.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health Dr Jane Ruth Aceng will update the public on the health sector’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic on Thursday 14 May 2020 at 3.00p.m. She will be accompanied by the Ministerial Scientific Advisory Committee. The event will be live on all TVs via UBC.
