July 10, 2014: Uganda has been re-elected to the African Telecommunications Union (ATU) Administrative Council for the period 2014-2018. The elections took place during the 4th ATU Plenipotentiary Conference held in Harare, Zimbabwe from July 3-11, 2014.

ITU TELECOM WORLD 2014 Young Innovators Competition

On behalf of International Telecommunications Union (ITU) Telecom World 2014, Uganda Communications Commission is happy to announce second challenge of the Young Innovators Competition 2014. The annual competition offers young people the chance to win up to USD 10,000 (Ten Thousand Dollars Only) in seed funding, take part in workshops on entrepreneurial skills, opportunities to meet and network with leading ICT players and, to showcase their projects at the Innovation Space; a dedicated show floor pavilion at ITU Telecom World which will take place December 7-10 in

Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda and South Sudan have mutually agreed to adopt a regional telecommunications framework for a "One-Network-Area¡± by 31st December 2014. The One-Network-Area is being implemented as a result of resolutions made during the 5th Heads of State Summit for the Northern Corridor Integration Projects held in Nairobi, Kenya in May 2014.
